How it all started

My Dream
When I was 20 years old, I moved from a liberal arts college in the corn fields of Ohio, USA to Paris, to pursue my dream of a professional dance career. Performing, choreographing and teaching throughout Europe, gave me my first exposure to the challenges of intercultural collaborations. I created 20 original productions, and worked with dancers and actors from 13 different countries. For several years I was invited for an annual artistic residency Moscow. Re-defining Boundaries During my dance career, I was regarded as one of the most controversial choreographers in The Netherlands. As an artist I was deeply engaged in redefining the boundaries between performance and the intimacy of human experience. Although my focus is no longer stage performance, encouraging others to believe in themselves and to take ownership of their own talent is the red thread in my crossover from the artistic to the business world. |
